Generations Center

Senior Services’ new Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness (Generations Center) is the first community center of its kind.

The center has 21 community organizations participating in its space, including Sawtooth School for Visual Art and Novant Health. These organizations offer activities and programs for community members of all generations to engage in arts and wellness activities together.

  • The Space: The Generations Center features healthcare spaces, art studios, Generations Café, and shared areas for community organizations to host events. Additionally, it functions as the new home of the Williams Adult Day Center.

  • Why: Through its Aging with Purpose initiative, Senior Services saw the positive impact that bringing different generations together had on both senior citizens and young people. Conversations about creating the Generations Center began in 2017.

  • Mission: According to Senior Services, the goal of the Generations Center is to “build a community that celebrates the value of all people at every stage of life by fostering relationships built on empathy and understanding.”

  • Get involved: Learn more about the Generations Center by attending the ribbon cutting and open house on November 17. RSVP for the event here.
