The Salvation Army: Pack and distribute toy bags for Angel Tree Children. The Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year.
Love Out Loud: The annual Christmas for the City event takes place December 16 and needs plenty of volunteers to make it happen! Numerous opportunities are available.
Senior Services: Donate comfort, care, and/or food items to Remember in December, Senior Servicesâ holiday item drive.

New Restaurant: Spaghetti Park, a fast-casual Italian restaurant, will open in December at Clemmons Town Center. It will offer Italian dishes like ravioli, pasta, risotto, and stone-baked Sicilian pizza.
Greenhouse Restoration: The iconic Lord & Burnham Greenhouse at the Reynolda Gardens will undergo restoration and renovation beginning in early November. The restoration will update the Greenhouseâs operating efficiency and is expected to reopen as the Brown Family Greenhouse in late spring 2024.
Vote: Voting for the Green Business of the Year opened earlier this week. Contestants include Bashavia Gardens, Blanco Tackabery, Fair Witness, and Second Harvest Food Bank. The winner will be honored at Piedmont Environmentalâs Annual Party on November 8.
Child Care: Wake Forest University will renovate the University Corporate Center to function as a childcare and early education center. The new center is set to open in fall 2024, and WFU faculty, staff, and students will receive priority enrollment.
Anniversary: The Forsyth County Historic Resources Commission celebrates its 75th anniversary on November 4. The Commission protects multiple aspects of the countyâs heritage by identifying and preserving historic resources. It is the oldest such commission in North Carolina.
