Today is the autumn equinox, which means it’s officially fall! We’ve created a list of farms to visit to get into the spirit of the season.

Beyond pumpkins and corn mazes, here’s what makes each farm worth the trip!

Alpha & Omega Farms | 1129 Cheek Rd, Hamptonville | ~35 minutes away

• Don’t miss Alpha & Omega’s pig races—cheer on your favorite porker!

• Show off your inner lumberjack at the Flannel Festival on October 11.

Armstrong Artisan Farms | 1499 Brook Cove Rd, Walnut Cove | ~30 minutes away

• The fun doesn’t have to stop when the sun sets—go on nighttime hayrides and try navigating their corn maze in the dark.

• Take in the farm from the sky on a hot air balloon ride!

Kersey Valley | 1615 Kersey Valley Rd, Archdale | ~30 minutes away

• Kersey Valley is perfect for kids with a strong adventurous streak—aside from the adventure park, there are also bungee trampolines and a 32-foot rock wall.

Millstone Creek Orchards | 506 Parks Crossroads Church Rd, Ramseur | ~1 hour away

• Bring your fishing gear for a peaceful break at Millstone Creek’s catch & release fishing pond.

• Stop by the bakery for apple cider donuts, cakes, bread, fudge, and more!

The Farm | 769 Bray Ford Rd, Dobson | ~45 minutes away

• All kids ages 12 and under receive a free pumpkin with paid admission.

• New this year: mini excavator zone, a low ropes course, and a build-your-own-stuffed-animal workshop!

• Silent Book Club - Cozy up with a good book in the company of fellow readers at Footnote Coffee! There will be designated times for mingling and reading. 5:30 PM
