Winston-Salem Fashion Week returns for its 10th year!

  • What: Winston-Salem Fashion Week (WSFW) provides a platform for those working in and breaking into the fashion industry.

  • Background: Nikita Wallace created WSFW for her senior thesis at Salem College in 2015 - Salem College hosted the first WSFW over two days with 500 total attendees. (Yes! Weekly) Nowadays, each runway show has 200-300 attendees!

  • Movie Night - What happens when a mother and daughter swap bodies? Find out in East of Texas’ movie pick this month: Freaky Friday! 8 PM

  • Outdoor Concert - Coconut Groove Band performs classic rock at Shallowford Square. Part of the show will be a Jimmy Buffett tribute! 7 PM

  • Comedian - Carol Leifer, the writer/producer of iconic sitcoms like Seinfeld and Modern Family, performs at Temple Emmanuel. 7 PM

  • Vintage Market - Find vintage and homemade items from 35 vendors at Kƶrner’s Folly! 9 AM - 2 PM

  • Pickleball Tournament - Sign up to play an indoor pickleball tournament at Forsyth Country Day School! Still learning how to play? Check out the outdoor beginner workshops. Tournament brackets at 9 AM and 1 PM, workshop at 11 AM.

  • Coming Soon: Originally, Manolo CafĆ© & Restaurant was slated to open in the Rosenbacher House, but due to a change in plans, Lolo’s Bistro & Bar will open in the Rosenbacher House on Saturday, September 28. Its menu will include everything from breakfast favorites to salads, sandwiches, and pizza!

  • Fall Fun: Smith Hollow Farm opens this Saturday, September 21. The farm features a 3-acre corn maze, a pumpkin patch, hayrides, kid-friendly ax throwing, and much more. Visit any Saturday or Sunday through November 2. P.S. Don’t forget to check out these other local farms with fall activities!

  • Oktoberfest: This German festival in Munich kicks off on Saturday, September 21. Thankfully, you don’t have to travel all the way to Europe to celebrate. These local spots in Winston-Salem are hosting their own Oktoberfest celebrations!

  • Ranking: Commercial CafeĀ® ranked Winston-Salem No. 17 on its list of the best mid-sized U.S. cities for Gen Z. Contributing to the ranking was Winston-Salem’s ā€œunique university cultureā€ and affordability.

  • Non-profit: Imprints Cares completed renovations on the Center for Thriving Families, its new 21,000-square-foot headquarters building at 711 Coliseum Plaza Court! The non-profit will celebrate with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 17, and a grand opening on Saturday, October 19.

  • Fair: You can get a free ticket to the Carolina Classic Fair by donating gently used clothing at any Forsyth County Goodwill location. This promotion lasts through October 2.

  • Opening: The Brown Family Conservatory & Reynolda Welcome Center celebrates its grand opening on Tuesday, October 8. The conservatory started undergoing renovations in November 2023 to update its operating efficiency.
