🔨 Winston-Salem Major Project Updates
🔨 Project Progress Report
It’s hard to keep up with all the updates on Winston-Salem’s major projects! But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Completed
~ Twin City Trail (Phase I) | Completed August 2025
This new trail connects Liberty Street to the Winston-Salem Strollway. Phase II, which is currently under design, will extend the path from W. Fourth Street to Lockland Avenue.
~ The YMCA REACH Center | Completed May 2025
Formerly known as the Winston Lake Family YMCA, the YMCA REACH Center is a community hub combining the YMCA’s services with those of other human service organizations, such as Novant Health and Goodwill.
In Progress
~ Salem Bottleworks | Opening in stages through late 2026 | 845 S. Poplar St.
The historic Coca-Cola Bottling Plant is already home to Bobby Boy’s second location and Grandpa Joe’s Slaberia. Expect a new ramen restaurant in the coming weeks, plus an upscale restaurant, studio apartments, and more in 2026.
~ The Grounds | Early Summer 2027 (Phase I) | Deacon Boulevard
One hundred acres around Deacon Boulevard are being transformed into an entertainment destination with retail, dining, and office space. The Grounds recently announced Creekside, an apartment community for upperclassmen and graduate students.
~ Downtown Amphitheater | Spring 2026 | Between the Benton Convention Center and First Baptist Church
The privately funded, 5,000-seat amphitheater is moving forward with plans to begin construction soon. It will host a mix of national touring acts and community events.
🎃 Skip the overpriced, forgettable costumes this Halloween. At Goodwill, you’ll find affordable, second-hand gems to turn into something original. It’s budget-friendly, better for the planet, and supports a good cause while showing off your creativity. Here are some ideas based on their Halloween Look Book Guide:
Glinda and Elphaba from Wicked (Sparkly pink gown and crown OR an all-black outfit, witch hat and round glasses)
Ted Lasso (Track jacket and pants, whistle, and mustache)
Gym Rats (Workout gear and mouse ears)
Sabrina Carpenter (Pink fur jacket, white top and black skirt)
