🚶♀️ What's New With the Piedmont Greenway?
🚶♀️ Progress on the Piedmont (Greenway)
Did you know a shared-use path is in the works to link Winston-Salem with Greensboro and High Point? Keep reading to learn about what’s happening with the Piedmont Greenway!

Background: The master plan for the project was published in 2003. Since then, there have been feasibility studies, design work, and construction on:
A 1.25-mile trail segment running from Salem Lake to Hastings Hill Road (expected completion in June 2026)
A natural surface trail in Guilford County, which will be paved at a later date
What’s New? In August, the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources awarded the Piedmont Triad Regional Council a $500,000 grant through the Great Trails State Program. The funding will support:
The design and engineering of the Triad Park/Reedy Fork section
The construction of the 1-mile Bandera Farms Park segment (expected completion in 2026)
Get Involved: Take the online survey, spread awareness, and consider forming an advocacy group—your involvement can help accelerate progress on the Piedmont Greenway!
📈 Your local YMCA continues to grow and transform lives:
380 adult learners gained vital skills through YMCA Literacy Programs last year
Upgraded equipment, ensuring you always have access to state-of-the-art facilities
Renovations are complete at Winston Lake YMCA, now a vibrant hub for health, learning, and community support
The Robinhood YMCA is currently being renovated to expand parking and add a new airnasium
