👟 Save the Date: City with Dwellings invites you to join them for “Walk With Us” on November 3. Participants will walk 3.5 miles, visiting places frequented by people experiencing homelessness to better understand what a day in their life is like.
✏️ Education: The WS/FCS Board of Education recently voted to move forward with constructing a new Ashely Elementary School. The next step is turning the design plans into construction documents, which will take ~6 months and cost $700,000. Officials estimate construction will be completed in the 2026-27 academic year.
🎨 Arts: The annual Ardmore Art Walk takes place on November 9. More than 100 local artists will display their work on Ardmore's front lawns, featuring handmade items like pottery, jewelry, paintings, and more.
🍁 City: Leaf collection service in Winston-Salem will start no later than Monday, November 4. The service will last through January, or as long as it takes for each quadrant of the city to be serviced 3 times. Find out when you can expect leaf collection service here.
🔨 Renovations: Camino Brookstown is currently undergoing renovations to add a larger deck and replace the main floor. Camino Brookstown will remain open for business during the renovation. The deck will be open by late November, and the main floor will be completed by late January.
👰♀️ Venue: The Crest, a historic building turned event venue, hosted its first wedding this past weekend! Originally known as the Rogers House, The Crest sits on Cherry Street and features an outdoor ceremony space + a newly constructed reception hall.
