📜 Community History Museum Coming 2026
📜 Making History at MUSE
MUSE Winston-Salem, a community history museum, is investing $3.1 million to transform the former U.S. Federal Bankruptcy Court building into its new permanent home!
Background: Founded in 2012 as the New Winston Museum, the museum was located at 713 South Marshall Street until 2017. It began leasing the U.S. Federal Bankruptcy Court building from the City of Winston-Salem in January 2020.
What to Expect: Multiple galleries and experiential spaces, including:
The Core Exhibition - this space will tell the story of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.
Sounds of Winston-Salem - a listening room where visitors can listen to local music traditions on a retrofitted jukebox.
The Community Gallery - a flexible, multipurpose space for programs, field trips, education, temporary exhibitions, and private events.
When: MUSE Winston-Salem is projected to open in late summer 2026.

✏️ Education: All In For Our Schools has raised nearly $1.5 million to support WS/FCS amid its debt crisis, with major contributions from organizations such as the Twin City Development Foundation and the Winston-Salem Foundation. The campaign aims to reach a $3 million goal by December 31.
💕 Volunteer: Joy Prom is looking for volunteers! Love Out Loud’s annual prom event for individuals with special needs takes place on November 1 at Truist Stadium — volunteer roles include everything from setup and hosting attendees to cheering on the red carpet!
⚾ Baseball: The Winston-Salem Dash announced a new rebrand for their 2026 season: the Carolina Reapers! Inspired by the Carolina Reaper pepper — the world’s hottest from 2013 to 2023 — the design features the Grim Reaper wielding a pepper as his scythe.
🎨 Art: NCMA Winston-Salem is opening an exhibition and program space on Fourth Street in Spring 2026! The new space will allow the museum to continue operating while its main campus at 750 Marguerite Drive closes for renovations next year.
🎗 Support: Winston-Salem State University’s annual Breast Cancer Awareness Week runs through Saturday! Events include a panel discussion (Wed), a luncheon (Fri), and a 5K Walk/Run (Sat).
