Looking for ways to volunteer? From collecting spare change to packing toy bags for kids, there are so many ways you can make a difference in someoneā€™s life this holiday season.

Samaritan Ministries
  • Participate in the Penny Campaign, which helps spread awareness and raise funds for the hungry and homeless in our city

  • Volunteer at Christmas for the City, Winston-Salemā€™s biggest Christmas party

  • Assemble Luminary Kits and/or take orders, pick up the Luminary Kits, and distribute them

  • Donate gifts for the children of inmates as part of the ā€œIn the Name of the Fatherā€ program, which allows inmates to select donated gifts for their children

  • Pack toy bags for Angel Tree Children, distribute those bags to families, and/or ring bells for the annual Red Kettle Campaign

Mistletoe Run

The 41st Annual Mistletoe Run is the YMCA of Northwest North Carolinaā€™s largest fundraiser event and features:

  • šŸ“– History: The NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources added the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company Buildings 82 and 83 to the National Register of Historic Places. The buildings, which are located at 821 West 25th Street, were erected in 1919 for tobacco leaf storage.

  • šŸ University: Welcome back, Rams. It's Winston-Salem State Universityā€™s Homecoming Week! The celebration includes Miss and Mister WSSU Coronation, the homecoming football game and parade, concerts, and so much more.
