Monday, December 2

  • Wreath Decorating - Decorate a natural wreath at The Barn at Reynolda Village. Waitlist only. Other dates include Dec 3, 4, and 8.

  • Mah Jongg 101 - Learn how to play this ancient Chinese game at the Vecino Center! First of three classes. 5:30 PM

  • 🎄 NC Headline: On November 25, the White House received its Christmas tree from Cartner’s Christmas Tree Farm. Four generations of the Cartner Family were in attendance for the tree’s presentation to First Lady Jill Biden. Located in Avery County, NC, the Cartner’s Christmas Tree Farm and others in Western NC lost portions of their tree stock due to Hurricane Helene. This tree stands as a powerful symbol of Western’s NC resilience and strength. (Watauga Democrat)

  • 📚 Now Open: The Delta Arts Center has completed its new library! The library focuses on African-American contributions to the arts and features exhibition catalogs, art history, and professional development resources.

  • ❄️ Winter Fun: The Katharine Brasserie has set up its famous winter globes! You can reserve these outdoor heated globes on their website. Reservations are for 2 hours and include a record player with a selection of vinyl, a cheese & charcuterie display, and a miniature dessert display.

  • 📖 Save the Date: Listen to American novelist Jesmyn Ward at Wait Chapel on December 5. Ward is the third speaker in Wake Forest's Face to Face Speaker Forum. This event is free and open to the public.

  • 💙 NC Strong: Concert Stuff Group, a Triad-based company, played a pivotal role in Luke Combs’ Concert for Carolina, which raised over $24 million for Western North Carolina!   • 🍦 Closed: Mayberry Ice Cream on Fourth Street closed on Monday, November 25. The franchise’s location on Miller Street will remain open.
