Deacon Dash - Lace up your shoes and participate in the Fun Run or 5K at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds! Proceeds from the event support The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem. Fun Run begins at 9 AM, 5K begins at 9:30 AM.

Election: The primary election results from March 5 are available for the public to view. Keep in mind that results are unofficial until certified on March 15.
Initiative: “We Heal Together Winston-Salem” is launching a four-year initiative on March 7 to make our city a more trauma-resilient community by addressing specific needs in east Winston-Salem. You can learn more by attending the kickoff event at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church from 5-8 PM.
Business: Hoots Beer Co. announced it is ceasing its bar services and will only operate as a pub. Hoots will convert its brewery into a music venue and event space.
City: The Winston-Salem City Council approved an ordinance allowing residents to create natural landscape areas in their yards.
Save the Date: Appalachian State Head Football Coach Shawn Clark will speak at R. J. Reynolds Auditorium on April 18. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Bethesda Center for the Homeless.
Resource: Proyecto Mariposa recently launched! The website is designed to be a resource for Winston-Salem’s Hispanic population and features educational courses, job searching, and more.
