  • Mad Hare Party - Enjoy an Alice in Wonderland-themed tea party at Fairytale Adoption Shop, with Alice herself leading storytime! Sessions at 12 PM, 1:30 PM, and 3 PM

  • Chicago Tribute - Sit back in your lawn chair and listen to Chicago Rewired at Shallowford Square. Concessions available. 7-9 PM

  • Family Day - Head to Foothills Tasting Room for various family activities, including yoga! Ronald McDonald House will be accepting items from its wish list! 11 AM - 2 PM

  • Common Hymnal - A group of artists performs music centered around life, justice, and underground spirituality at Wait Chapel. This event is part of the International Black Theatre Festival and is free to attend. 5:30 PM

  • Adoption Event - Meet adoptable dogs from Ruff Love Rescue at 5598 Leonard Farm Rd in Kernersville. The rescue will be accepting donations at the event! 10 AM - 2 PM

  • Water Balloon Barrage - Cool off with your kids at a water balloon battle at Softgolf in Tanglewood Park. 10 AM - 12 PM

Sunday, August 4

  • Back to School Bash - Join Triad Moms on Main for activities and vendors at the Ciener Botanical Gardens! The first 100 families receive goodie bags. 12:30-3:30 PM

  • Cocktail Class - Date idea! Learn how to craft a great spritz together at Easytalk. Tickets include 2 full-sized cocktails, a cocktail guide, and bar snacks. 2 PM

  • Free Ride - Join CycleBar for free community rides! Ride to the rhythm of today's and yesterday's chart-toppers and meet fellow fitness enthusiasts. Classes at 9:15 AM, 10:30 AM, and 4 PM

Monday, August 5

  • Dash City Open - You could play golf with a Dash player or coach at Salem Glen Country Club! Proceeds from the event benefit the Winston-Salem Youth Sports Foundation. 8:30 AM

  • The Lab - DOSE Artist Collective presents a showcase of art from underground and emerging artists at the Milton Rhodes Center. 7:30 PM

YMCA of Northwest North Carolina

✏️ School starts on August 12 for Forsyth County. Have you looked at before and after-school care programs? The YMCA Before and After School Academy supplements the school day with educational activities like:

  • Countdown: We are just 17 days away from the opening day of the Winston-Salem Open. Enjoy all the drinks, food, and fan perks while watching 15 of the world's top 50 players compete. Join the excitement from August 17-24 at the Wake Forest University Tennis Complex.*

  • Arts: Sawtooth School’s new exhibit, Sacred Threads, showcases costumes, artwork, and performance items from NC Black Rep’s 45-year performing history. The exhibit is on display in the Davis Gallery through October 12.

  • Changes: The Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA) is changing its name to the North Carolina Museum of Art, Winston-Salem (NCMA Winston-Salem). The museum will also begin charging an admission fee starting tomorrow, August 1.

  • Now Open: Race Mode, a virtual racing experience, recently opened at 5013 Country Club Rd. With over 100 courses and cars to choose from, players experience auto racing that simulates real-world elements like fuel consumption and tire wear. Team member Christy checked it out last week.

  • New Location: The Struggle Bus, a mobile espresso and coffee shop, is adding a second trailer to its fleet. Join them for their launch party at Clemmons Farmer’s Market on Saturday, August 3.

  • Secure Your Seat: Tickets for Wake Forest University’s Face to Face Speaker Forum go on sale tomorrow, August 1. The first event on September 11 will feature football star Peyton Manning. Later speaker forum guests include Anderson Cooper and John Legend.

  • Gardens: The Brown Family Conservatory at Reynolda Gardens reopens October 8. The conservatory has been undergoing renovations since November 2023 to restore the structure and update its functionality and efficiency.
