  • šŸ† Nonprofit: GreeNest won the 2025 Premier Cares Award for its Up Off the Floor Program! The Up Off the Floor Program provides new beds for children in Forsyth County who are sleeping on the floor or don’t have a safe sleeping space. Want to get involved? Volunteer with greeNest!

  • šŸ“š Save the Date: Bookmarks’ Books, Barbecue & BINGO takes place Saturday, August 9, at Biotech Place! Featuring a barbecue dinner and bingo rounds, the event raises money for the upcoming Bookmarks Festival of Books & Authors. Register to attend by this Friday!

  • āš•ļø Medical: Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist opened the Julie Ann Freischlag Tower! This seven-story, 327,000+ square foot tower cost $426 million to build and features a new adult emergency department, 28 operating rooms, and 56 adult intensive care rooms.

  • šŸ‘·ā€ā™€ļø Construction: Starting August 4, the City of Winston-Salem will begin streambank and trail repairs along the Muddy Creek Greenway. Portions of the Greenway and Jamison Park, including the parking lot and dog park, will be closed for approximately four months.
