  • What: The Big Chill is a fundraiser event from The Shalom Project featuring free homemade ice cream prepared by over a dozen organizations and faith communities! Attendees can vote for their favorite ice cream by donating to The Shalom Project at that group’s station.

  • What to expect: Aside from delicious ice cream, there will be face painting, outdoor games, live music, and food trucks.

  • Why it matters: All donations benefit The Shalom Project, a non-profit assisting our neighbors in need through a medical clinic & pharmacy, food pantry, clothing closet, and more.

  • Details: Bailey Park from 3-6 PM. Parking options include the lots at 623 Patterson Ave and 315 Seventh St and the free parking garage at 455 N Chestnut St. In case of rain, The Big Chill will take place at Summit School's Athletic Center (2100 Reynolda Rd).

  • Hands-On History - Learn about life in the 18th century at Historic Bethabara Park, featuring interactions with historical reenactors, Colonial games, a scavenger hunt, and more! 1:30-4:30 PM

  • Tea Party - Attend a Bridgerton-themed event complete with exquisite tea, delectable snacks, and mingling with other Bridgerton-enthusiasts at Pink Moon Cafe. 5 PM

  • Birthday - Celebrate The Bookhouse’s first birthday! Participate in raffle drawings, listen to live music, and get $5 off purchases of $25 or more. 9 AM - 8 PM

  • 5K Race - Run or walk in the Beat the Heat 5K at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds! This is a popular race for first-time 5K runners. Race start times at 6 PM and later.

  • Baseball - The Carolina Disco Turkeys face the Mooresville Spinners at Couch Ballpark in their final home game of the season. 6:30 PM

  • Tomato Festival - Head to Fair Share Farms for its first annual tomato festival, featuring property tours, farm activities, live music, and local vendors. 10 AM - 3 PM

  • Puppet Parade - Bring the kids to Forsyth County Central Library for storytime and puppet-making, followed by a parade to Sawtooth! 10 AM

  • Outdoor Movie - Watch the classic ‘90s film, Jurassic Park, at Washington Park. Pre-movie activities start at 7 PM, movie starts at dusk.

  • Piano Concert - Uptown Dueling Pianos performs its all-request show at The Playground Golf & Sports Bar. 8-11 PM

Sunday, July 21

  • Calligraphy Class - Join Sip & Script at Joymongers Barrel Hall to learn the basics of calligraphy. Supplies are included. 4:30 PM

  • Cocktail Class - Join Easytalk at the bar to learn how to make summery cocktails with holiday flavors - because let’s be honest, this heat has us dreaming of chilly days. 4 PM

  • Farmers Market - Shop fresh produce and more at Foothills Brewing Tasting Room. Dogs welcome! 12-4 PM
