YMCA

Ready to build healthy habits but not sure where to begin? Look no further than the YMCA's Lifestyle 360 and uFit programs.

~ Lifestyle 360: A two-month program focused on establishing healthy new habits that support sustainable weight loss. The next program begins January 15.

~ uFit: New members meet with a Wellness Coach for free to discuss personal goals, limitations, and interests. You’ll work with your coach to build a fitness routine unique to you.*

  • Milestone: For the first time in its 49-year history, the North Carolina Zoo welcomed 1 million visitors in a calendar year. The zoo is the largest natural habitat zoo in the world and plans to add an Asia habitat in 2026.

  • Save the Date: a/peture brings back its a/ movie prom on March 2 at WinMock. Grab your tickets now to get the early bird price.

  • Races: The Frosty Fifty Trail Races take place January 5 and 6 at Salem Lake. Participants will run in one of five different races: a 5K, 12.5K, 25K, 50K, or 50K relay. The event’s charity partners are the Down Syndrome Association and Winston-Salem Street School.

  • Menu Update: Chad’s Chai, located in the Arts District, is now serving tea-infused wines such as the Fumé Blanc with Misty Mountain Chai.

  • Auditions: The NC Black Repertory Company is holding auditions on January 6 for its 40th annual MLK Jr. Birthday Celebration. Auditions are open to singers, dancers, actors, spoken-word artists, poets, and more.
