š 47 Miles of HOPE
What do you do on your birthday? If youāre Justin Bailey, you spend it running your age in miles.
What: 47 Miles of HOPE is an annual run that raises money and awareness for H.O.P.E. of Winston-Salem, a non-profit that addresses childrenās health and food insecurity issues in Forsyth County.
Backstory: The first Miles of HOPE run was held in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Justin told our team the run was a way to get people active outside while also supporting a great cause.
Why It Matters: Since Miles of HOPEās inception in 2021, it has raised $44,000 for H.O.P.E. of Winston-Salem. Last year alone, the race raised $20,000!
Details: Participants can run in a 1 Mile Fun Run, 5K, 10K, or 47 mile relay. If youāre up for it, you can also run the full 47 miles with Justin! Races start at various times on Saturday, January 25, at Kimberly Park.
Sign up: Itās not too late to sign up! According to WXII 12, the day of the race will be one of the warmest this week, with a high of 44Ā°.

Volunteering - Passionate about nature? Learn about invasive plant species and how to effectively remove them at Gateway Nature Preserve. 9 AM
Comedy Night - Need a good laugh? Comedians Andy Forrester and Jordan Centry perform at Old Homeplace Vineyards. 7:30 PM
Pre-Game Party - Join Roll the Quad at Fiddlinā Fish for autographs and photos with Wake Forest football team members. Stay after to watch the sold out WFU/Duke game! 1:30-3:30 PM
Elvis Tribute Show - Enjoy a delicious dinner at Childress Vineyards while watching a performance from an Elvis tribute artist. Attendees are encouraged to wear ā50s attire. 6 PM
Line Dancing - Brush up on the basics and show off your moves at Radar Brewing! Lesson at 7 PM, open dance from 8-9:30 PM.
Pianos for Paws - Listen to Dueling Pianos perform an all-request show at Robert Hall. This fundraiser event benefits Fur-Ever Friends of North Carolina. 6 PM
Onesie & PJ Bar Crawl - Dress cozy for Breathe Cocktail Loungeās first annual bar crawl, featuring Follyās, Social Habit, and more! 5 PM
Open Art Studio - Create art in community at B Balanced Counseling & Wellness. Attendees also have the option to join a wall tapestry weaving workshop! 6 PM
Chili Competition - Itās the annual Beat Chef Shane Contest! Taste the competitorsā chili entries and vote for your favorite at Foothills Tasting Room. 2-5 PM
