Saturday, January 4

  • Basketball - Cheer on Wake Forest’s Men’s Basketball Team as they take on NC State at LJVM Coliseum! 12 PM

  • Skate Days - Take your family skating at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Arena! Also available Sunday.

  • Vision Board Party - Join the Art SHAC team at Artworks Gallery and create your visual road map for 2025! Supplies included. 1 PM

  • Frosty Fifty - Run in a 12.5K, 25K, or 50K at Salem Lake! This event’s charity partners are the Down Syndrome Association and Winston-Salem Street School. 8 AM

  • Yoga & Symphony - Stretch out with a yoga class onstage at Reynolds Auditorium with 2B Yoga! The Winston-Salem Symphony will provide musical accompaniment. Classes at 11 AM and 12:45 PM.

Sunday, January 5

  • Art Gallery - View exhibitions from Miss Cummings Art and Gemini Aesthetics at The CMPND. 5:55 PM

Monday, January 6

  • Tap Class - Join Real World Ballroom for its adult beginner tap classes. Classes are designed for seasoned dancers or complete newbies! 7 PM

  • 🍎 Learning: Is learning a new language one of your New Year's resolutions? Take a beginner Spanish or Italian class at the Vecino Center!

  • 🎨 Art: The Reynolda House Museum of American Art will temporarily close in January for its annual renovations. The Museum will reopen in February and welcome a new exhibit, “Andrew Wyeth at Kuerner Farm: The Eye of the Earth,” on February 15.

  • 📢 Markets: Calling all vendors! Applications are open for Catbird’s 2025 vendor markets. These include the Camel City Craft Fair, the Winston Junction Market, the Firefly Market, and more.

  • ❄️ Weather: Meteorologists predict warmer-than-average winter weather and below-average snowfall in the Triad this year. (WFDD)

  • 👕 Closing: The HanesBrands store in Thruway Shopping Center will close at the end of January. A spokesperson from HanesBrands Inc. said this closure was part of the company’s broader decision to close its U.S. outlet stores. (WXII 12) HanesBrands Inc. is expected to move into its new headquarters at 101 N Cherry Street in the upcoming months.

  • 🇺🇸 National: Former President Jimmy Carter passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100. The former President visited Winston-Salem—Wake Forest University specifically—four times: in 1976, 1978, 1985, and 2009. (Wake Forest News)
