Dioli’s Italian Market - This Italian Market has some of the best sandwiches and baked goods in the area. Create your own sandwich or order one from their menu. We love the $7.75 grilled chicken breast sandwich.

The Pizza Place - This woman-owned restaurant serves NY thin-crust pizza, wings, subs, pasta, and more! Order two cheese slices with a drink for $7 or two gourmet pizza slices with a drink for $9.

Hot Dog City - In addition to hot dogs, Hot Dog City serves mouthwatering sandwiches and has several vegan options, all at an affordable price. Try the Original Philly Cheese Steak for $5.49 or the Rachel with Hot Pastrami for $5.99.

  • Activity: Learn new recipes and cooking skills this year at one of Southern Home & Kitchen’s January Cooking Classes. These classes fill up fast, so be sure to reserve your spot!


  • Coming Soon: Eggs Up Grill, a southeastern chain specializing in breakfast, and Ulta Beauty, a cosmetics & fragrance store announced they are opening locations at Whitaker Square.


  • Mental Health: Winston-Salem's B.E.A.R. program, launched in early 2023 has responded to over 1,500 non-emergency calls. This program provides support for mental health and substance use crises through a team of crisis counselors dispatched through the police department's 9-1-1 system.


  • Christmas Trees: Winston-Salem is offering several options for residents who need to dispose of their live Christmas trees including curb pickup during regular city brush collection and designated drop-off locations.
