🥖 Now Open: Time for some fresh-baked goodness. Copain Bakery & Provisions is now open at 380 Knollwood Street. This bakery offers gourmet pastries, artisan bread, quiches, sandwiches, soups, and grab-n-go salads.
️⚽️ Soccer: Salem City FC announced its 2025 season schedule! The team's first home game will be on May 14 at Truist Sports Park, and season tickets are already available. Salem City FC is a USL League Two team that played its inaugural season last year.
✈️ Travel: Breeze Airways offers two new nonstop flights from Piedmont Triad International Airport. Flights to Orlando, FL, and Hartford, CT, will begin June 6, and travelers can already start booking them.
🍣 Closing: Ichiban Japanese Restaurant will permanently close on Friday, February 28, after 30 years of serving up sushi and other Japanese fare. The owners have not shared the reason for the closure. Not sure where to get sushi anymore? Check out these local sushi restaurants. (WXII 12)
📜 History: Triad Cultural Arts will host a ribbon-cutting event on Thursday, February 27, for the new Shotgun House Legacy Site. The Legacy Site will feature a restored early 20th-century shotgun house in the Happy Hill neighborhood.
🏅 Award: Wake Forest University awarded Don Flow—chairman and CEO of Flow Automotive Companies—the Medallion of Merit. This award is the highest honor bestowed by Wake Forest, given to individuals for “outstanding achievement and distinguished contribution” to Wake Forest.
