Paw Crawl
Join the Forsyth Humane Society for a recurring pet-friendly pub crawl across Winston-Salem!
Why: Meet and socialize with animal-loving folks while discovering and supporting pet-friendly bars and restaurants.
When: From 5-7 PM on the third Thursday of each month February - July. The first Paw Crawl takes place this Thursday, February 15 at Buieās Market.

Black Sacred Music Symposium - Attend this free conference highlighting the study and performance of Black sacred music traditions at Gerald Freedman Theatre. The symposium runs through February 18.

Black History: Winston-Salemās Police, Fire, and Recreation & Parks departments will hold their annual Black History Month program virtually on February 18 at 1 PM. The police and fire departments will honor select retirees, and the recreation & parks department will present entries in its Black History Month exhibits and activities.
Ranking: Winston-Salem is ranked No. 86 on the Milken Instituteās 2024 Best-Performing Cities Index. The index evaluates the economic performance of US metropolitan areas based on multiple factors like job and wage growth.
Nomination: Lesser-Known Beer Co. has been nominated for the USA Today 10Best Readerās Choice awards for āFavorite New Brewery.ā You can vote daily until February 26; winners will be announced March 8.
Mulch: Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilitiesā annual leaf mulch giveaway will open on March 29. The mulch will only be available to Forsyth County residents in cars and pickup trucks on a first-come, first-served basis.
Theatre: The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem announced its 90th season of shows, which includes Little Shop of Horrors, Oklahoma!, and A Christmas Carol.
Opening Soon: A state-of-the-art barbershop will open in West Edge shopping center this spring at 5583 Robin Lark Circle. At La Barberia Barbershop & Social Club, customers can play some pool, fuzzball, and video games and enjoy a warm cup of coffee and tea! All amenities will be free for customers.
University: Hayleigh Bryant, a freshman at WSSU, was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Track Athlete of the Year.

Anna Simeonides, the founder of To Your Health Bakery, is going to be on Food Network!
Background: From an early age, Anna learned to cook using allergen-free ingredients because of her brotherās various food allergies. This inspired her to open To Your Health Bakery, which serves allergen-free, vegan, keto, and paleo sweet treats.
Past Features: This isnāt the first time Anna has competed. In 2019, she was featured on Hallmark Channelās āChristmas Cookie Matchupā, and in 2023, she won Christmas Inc. Magazineās Ultimate Baker contest.
Support: You can cheer on Anna as she competes against 11 other pastry chefs on Food Networkās āSpring Baking Championship,ā which airs on March 4.
