š Meet a Local Muralist
š Behind the Brush
Meet Christina Parrish, the art educator turned full-time muralist behind many memorable murals around town!
The Start: In 2016, Christina painted a mural for the art club at the school where she worked. Over the next several years, she continued painting school murals, and by 2020, she turned her mural painting into a business.
Her Artwork: Winston-Salem is full of Christinaās murals! Some of her favorite projects include the murals sheās painted for Bar Nola, The Dutch Light, The Boho Depot, and Kaleideum.
Behind the Scenes: Christina paints 1-2 large projects each month, with each project taking ~5 days to complete.
Whatās Next? Christina is preparing for the Kernersville Mural Festival, a live painting event taking place in downtown Kernersville on May 2-4.

āļø Education: The new Brunson Elementary School groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Monday, February 17, at 1201 N Patterson Drive. The school will be built on a brownfield site, which means the land was contaminated by prior industrial useāin this case, a furniture plant. The school is projected to be finished in 2026. (WFDD)
š§āāļø Closing: Wildlight Wellness Collective, a yoga, meditation, and breathwork studio in the Arts District, will close its doors on March 30. Owners Jeremiah and Pamela have not disclosed the reason for the closure. The studio has been a part of the community since its opening in December 2018.
