Bring your kids to Kaleideum's Noon Year's Eve celebration! There will be crafts, music, a dance party, and lots of confetti.
Running of the Lights | 12 AM | Fun Run/5K at Tanglewood Park
Hit the new year running...literally! Run through the Tanglewood Festival of Lights at Fun Run/5K.
City of Winston-Salem | Dec 28 at 11 AM
Celebrate the new year while it’s still light outside at Salem Lake Marina, featuring a live DJ, a photo booth, and take-home crafts.
Old Homeplace Vineyards | 8:30 PM - 12:30 AM

🎓 Expansion: The Winston-Salem State University Foundation purchased 42 acres of land at 2900 Reynolds Park Road for $7.5 million. WSSU has not released any official plans for the land, but Chancellor Bonita Brown said the University is considering using it for “student housing or other academic space needs.”
🍛 Coming Soon: Saffron Indian Café will open at 1981 N Peace Haven Road this winter, serving authentic Indian street food and classic favorites. Another Broken Egg Cafe will open its first location in Winston-Salem at the Thruway Center. The opening date has yet to be announced.
💡 University: Wake Forest University received an anonymous $30 million gift toward its entrepreneurship program. The gift will be used to increase the number of entrepreneurship faculty, develop new courses, and fund the construction of a new space for the program.
☕️ Non-profit: It’s not too late to join the Winston-Salem Coffee Trail! To participate, donate $30 or more to Winston-Salem Rescue Mission and receive free drip coffee at the 10 participating coffee shops. Participants who visit all 10 by December 31 will be entered into the grand prize drawing.
🏆 Alumna: UNCSA School of Dance alumna Margaret Qualley has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her role in “The Substance.” The film has also been nominated for four other categories, including Best Motion Picture.
