  • Hobby Mega Show - Browse through 350 vendor tables showcasing comic books, vintage baseball cards and toys, and DC and Marvel collectibles at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds. 1-7 PM*

  • Motown Christmas - Bring your friends to the UR Coliseum for a night of dancing and the soulful sound of Motown music. 7-11 PM

  • Tour and Tasting - Tour Sutler’s Spirit Co., learn about the gin + rum distilling process and enjoy a gin tasting. Also available Saturday.

  • Holiday Show - Spring Theatre presents JOY, a musical holiday revue, at Hanesbrands Theatre. 7 PM

  • Art Crush - Head to the Arts District for live performances, art galleries, shopping with local vendors, and more. Art Crush will not return until April of next year. 7-10 PM

Saturday, December 16

  • Christmas for the City - Come to the Benton Convention Center for a free citywide Christmas party with a North Pole Village, artistic performances, and delicious desserts. 1-6 PM

  • Calligraphy Class - Sip & Script offers a beginner calligraphy and holiday place cards workshop at Kernersville Brewing Company. 2 PM

  • Santa Brunch - Get a picture with Santa at Founders Restaurant and bless those in need by bringing a new gift for Toys for Tots. 8 AM - 2 PM

  • Christmas Party - Slip on your PJs and celebrate the season with Wise Man Brewing, featuring baby goats, gift wrapping, food trucks, and more. 12 PM - 12 AM

  • ChristmasFest - Experience a Moravian festival - modeled after a German Christmas market - at the Archie K. Davis Center. Guests can enjoy a holiday market, Christmas carols, and the opportunity to meet Santa. 10 AM - 8 PM

  • Muppet Christmas Carol - Watch this classic Christmas movie at Marketplace Cinemas. Requested admission price is two cans of food for Samaritan Ministries. 3 PM

  • Gaither Christmas Tour - Enjoy a performance from the Gaither Vocal Band and other musical artists at the Lawrence Joel Memorial Veterans Coliseum. 6 PM

  • Jingle Jog - Run or walk in a festive 5K/1-mile Fun Walk on the Long Branch paved trail; your dog is welcome to join you! All proceeds from registering your dog go to Ruff Love Rescue. 9 AM

  • Holiday Market - Find artists, makers, food trucks, and free photos with Santa at the Winston Junction Market. 11 AM - 4 PM

Sunday, December 17

  • Skate with Santa - Ice skate, take a picture with Santa, and enjoy hot chocolate and holiday music at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds. 12-1:30 PM*

  • Charlie Brown Christmas Jazz - Create holiday art and crafts while the Matt Kendrick Trio performs the Charlie Brown Christmas album at Dabble Art Bar. 3-5 PM

  • Cake Workshop - Make a delicious cake and create Christmas or New Year gift tags using dried and pressed flowers at My Garden Blooms. 2 PM

  • Holiday Open House - Bring your kids for pictures with Santa, a kids Christmas brunch, and wreath-making from businesses at Walnut + Broad! 10 AM - 6 PM

  • Winter Starz Ballroom Showcase - Best of Ballroom Dance Studio presents an afternoon of performances by professional and amateur dancers at the Millenium Center. 2-4 PM

Monday, December 18

  • Holiday Lights Ride - Ride with Beersngears and see the city’s holiday lights. Ride begins at Fiddlin’ Fish; festive attire is encouraged. 6:15 PM

  • Candle Workshop - Pick out the color, scent, and decorations to create a unique candle at Kaleideum North. 12-2 PM

  • Holiday Market - Check out local vendors and pick up holiday gifts at Fiddlin’ Fish. 6-9 PM

Other News

  • Government: On December 10, the City Council adopted next year’s City Council meeting schedule. Did you know all City Council and Council Committee meetings are open to the public? Find the schedule for 2024 here.

  • Gameday: Two local HBCUs will perform at the Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons game on December 17. WSSU’s cheerleaders - known as the Powerhouse - will join the TopCats for end zone performances, and NC A&T’s marching band will perform during halftime.

  • Opening: A new studio, The CMPND, opened earlier this week. The CMPND is a Black-owned all-in-one creative studio for those looking to turn their passion for music into a career.

  • Security: Forsyth County is spending $1.9 million to replace 704 locks at the Forsyth County Detention Center. The locks have not been replaced since the center was built in 1992.

  • Year in Review: Check out Greater Winston-Salem Inc.’s year-in-review recap of economic wins, talent and workforce development, and the business climate.

  • Closing: Owner David Havens announced that after two years in business, Eastern Standard will be closing on January 2.

  • What: Holiday beverages are craft spritzes made by blending sparkling sauvignon blanc with fresh fruit juice and botanicals. Holiday currently offers three products: the Al Fresco, the Rendezvous, and the Discoteca.

  • Backstory: Founders McCabe and Kiernan were inspired to create Holiday by their time spent in Europe in 2022. Holiday’s products became available in local stores this November!
