Apple picking season is just around the corner! We’ve compiled a list of farms offering U-pick, child-friendly activities, and apple cider donuts! Before you make the trip, check the farm’s website for any updates on availability and events.
Perry Lowe Orchard | 8741 NC-16, Moravian Falls (~ 1 hour from downtown Winston-Salem)
Opening | Saturday, August 31
Attractions | Apple picking, tractor ride, playground, jump pad, apple cannon, megaslide, bee train
Treats | Apple cider, dried apples, pies, apple cider donuts, and other baked goods
Hours | Saturday & Sunday, 10 AM – 4 PM. Reservations required
Millstone Creek Orchard | 506 Parks Crossroads Church Rd, Ramseur (~ 1 hour from downtown Winston-Salem)
Opening | Saturday, September 7
Attractions | Apple picking, sunflower picking, cider demonstration, orchard hayride
Treats | Apple cider slushies, apple cider, apple cider donuts, baked goods, candied apples, ice cream
Hours | U-Pick is only available select Saturdays and Sundays by reservation. Pre-picked apples are available daily

Triad Minority & Women's Business Expo - One of the Top 10 Minority Business Expos in the country returns to Winston-Salem. Experience over 110 diverse businesses at the Benton Convention Center - it's free and open to everyone! 11 AM - 5 PM
Film - Catch a free screening of Dirty Dancing at Camel City Playhouse, part of their monthly series hosted by UNC School of the Arts professor and filmmaker Jeff Hammer. 7:30 PM
Art Show - Join Triad Woodcarvers for their debut Carving Arts Show at the Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness, featuring local painting artists and woodcarving clubs. Part of the sales will support “Meals on Wheels.” 10 AM - 3 PM
