  • Sip & Decorate - Bring your own drink and make Cinco de Mayo-themed cookies at The Canvas Cake Studio. 6:30 PM

  • Singles Night - Meet new people and make connections at The Playground Golf & Sports Bar. 7-9:30 PM

  • Midday Mindfulness - Unwind with therapy dogs, learn about local mental health resources, and practice meditation at Winston Square Park. 12-2 PM

  • Flower Arranging - With Mother’s Day coming up soon, it’s the perfect time to learn the art of making beautiful floral designs at Sophisticated Florals. 6 PM

  • Free Yoga - Stretch out in Bailey Park with this class taught by 2B Yoga. Bring your own yoga mat! 6 PM

  • Used Book Sale - The Shepherd Center holds its annual sale at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Event Center (formerly known as the Education Building). Sale runs through Saturday.

  • Bourbon Tasting - The Robert Hall Secret Supper Society hosts a tasting for society members only. The supper club will try premium spirits crafted by Broad Branch Distillery. 6 PM

  • Penny University - Learn the tips and tricks of becoming a successful artist with Vikki (from @thatblondegirlvikki) at D.O.S.E. Artist Collective. 7 PM

  • Impact: Par Les Femmes, a resale store, is hosting a clothing drive from Tuesday, April 30 to Friday, May 3 in support of Annie’s Hope Center. Bring your gently used clothing items (in very good condition) to the store from 10 AM - 6 PM.

  • Housing: The Housing Authority of Winston-Salem celebrated the opening of Brown School Lofts at Legacy Heights last week. The apartment complex consists of 81 mixed-income units and is part of a larger project to create 400 new housing units in the former site of Cleveland Avenue Homes.

  • Ranking: Winston-Salem made Livability’s Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S. this year! This is the second consecutive year that Winston-Salem has made the list. Other North Carolina cities making the list include Asheville and Raleigh.

  • Circus: “IGNITE,” an outdoor performance from Circus EVO takes place May 11 and 12 in Winston Square Park. The event is free to attend, but registration is required.

  • Now Open: Piedmont Plants Nursery just celebrated its grand opening this past weekend! The nursery specializes in plants native to North Carolina and even uses local seed sources when possible.
