From Salem Bottleworks to The Grounds, several major projects are underway in Winston-Salem! If you have a difficult time keeping track of them all, we’re here to help you out. 

Keep reading for a quick refresher on what’s coming to the Twin City this year and beyond!

Salm Parkway Multi-Use Path

Salem Bottleworks | Opening in stages throughout 2025 | 845 S Poplar St

  • The historic Coca-Cola Bottling Plant will become the home of Bobby Boy’s second location, three locally owned restaurants, residential spaces, and an event venue.

The YMCA REACH Center | May 2025 (Phase I) | 901 Waterworks Rd

  • Renovations at the Winston Lake Family YMCA will transform the space into a community hub that combines the YMCA’s services with those of other human service organizations such as Novant Health and Goodwill.

Salem Parkway Multi-Use Path | Late August 2025 (Phase I)

  • The project’s first phase will connect Liberty Street to the Winston-Salem Strollway.

The Grounds | Fall 2026 (Phase I) | Deacon Boulevard

  • One hundred acres around Deacon Boulevard is being transformed into an entertainment destination with retail, dining, and office space. Residential spaces will follow in 2027.

The Academy Hotel | 2027 | 500 E Rams Dr

  • The former Salem Academy building will be converted into a boutique hotel and conference center featuring 80+ hotel rooms, conference and meeting spaces, a 250-person auditorium, and an onsite restaurant and bar.

  • DIY Class - Craft stunning moss art at Mona + Associates Design’s new studio! 1 PM

  • Star Party - Join Kaleideum for space-themed activities, crafts, and unique live planetarium shows! 10 AM - 2 PM

  • Ladies Who Brunch - Native Root teams up with Chef Nguyen from Nougat Desserts to make a delicious brunch at West Salem Public House. 10 AM - 1 PM

  • Trellis Hope Run - Run or walk in a 5K at Bailey Park, complete with live music and the Kaleideum Kids Zone! Proceeds benefit Trellis Supportive Care. 9 AM

  • Spring at Bethabara - Dye Easter eggs, play Colonial games, and enjoy Moravian music at Historic Bethabara Park. 1:30-4:30 PM

  • Great(est) American Cleanup - Join the community to make Winston-Salem cleaner and greener! Activities vary based on location. 9 AM - 12 PM

  • Vintage Market - Shop vintage clothing from 20+ vendors at Wise Man Brewing! 12-6 PM

  • Tina Turner - Listen to the music of Tina Turner accompanied by the Winston-Salem Symphony at Reynolds Auditorium. 7:30 PM

  • Brick Convention - Check out massive LEGO displays, find retired sets, and meet LEGO masters at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds! Runs through Sunday.

Sunday, April 6

  • Easter Egg Hunt - Take pictures with the Easter Bunny, search for eggs, and compete in a cornhole tournament at Harmon House. 12-2 PM

  • CraftHalf - One of the biggest races of the year returns to Foothills Brewpub! Run in the one-miler, 5K, or half marathon and stick around for a block party + craft beer from 8+ breweries. Races start at 8:30 AM.

  • Car Show - Stop by Browerij DuBois to see classic cars while enjoying tacos from South Of Brooklyn. 1-5 PM

  • Potluck Social - Join Camel City Supper Club at Granville Park to meet new people and enjoy salads & “not salads.” Don’t forget to bring your own dish to share! 6:30 PM

  • Maya Angelou Garden Party - Celebrate Dr. Maya Angelou’s legacy with spoken word, poetry, and musical performances at Bailey Park. 2-4 PM

  • Cocktail Class - Learn about rums from all across the world and how to use them in cocktails at easytalk. Includes five tasting pours! 2 PM

Monday, April 7

  • Book Club - Calling all bookworms! Discuss Yangsze Choo’s “The Fox Wife” at Bookmarks. 12 PM and 6:30 PM

  • Beer Dinner - Enjoy a four-course meal paired with Foothills Brewing’s beer at The Katharine. 6:30 PM

RiverRun International Film Festival

175. That’s how many films are being screened at the RiverRun International Film Festival

  • What’s Showing? Everything from a documentary about Afghan skiers to a story about time-traveling vintage shop owners. Check out the full list here.
