Saturday, April 20 is going to be a busy day in Winston-Salem! From races to markets to fairs, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Note: These aren’t all the events happening next Saturday, but these are some of the biggest ones!

Piedmont Earth Day Fair

Piedmont Earth Day Fair | Winston-Salem Fairgrounds | 10 AM - 4 PM

  • The biggest Earth Day celebration in North Carolina includes live music, food trucks, activities, and environmental education!

CraftHalf Half Marathon & 5K | Foothills Brewpub | 7 AM - 12 PM

  • This event also includes a block party with live music and craft beer from Foothills Brewing and other craft breweries. The entire city block of 4th Street is closed off for this event.

  • Half marathon starts at 8:30 AM and 5K run/walk starts at 8:50 AM

Spring Vintage Market | Körner’s Folly | 9 AM - 2 PM

  • Find unique items from over 35 vendors, including jewelry, woodwork, bath and body products, vintage clothing, and artwork.

  • Some vendors prefer cash; plan accordingly because no ATM will be available on-site.

FUSE: A Maker’s Market | SECCA | 11 AM - 7 PM

  • Browse artwork from 40 local and regional artists and enjoy live music, food trucks, and an art activity with Mixxer.

Clemmons Community Day | Jerry Long Family YMCA | 10 AM - 2 PM

  • Enjoy music, food, kids activities, and shopping from local vendors.

Summer is quickly approaching! The YMCA provides a diverse range of camp options for kids to relish the outdoors, build friendships, and develop new skills. Select from a variety of day camps (at a local YMCA or YMCA Camp Hanes) or overnight stays at Camp Hanes. Spots fill up fast - register soon!*

Friday, April 12

  • Grand Opening - Easy Tiger Beer Garden opens in Southside Beer Garden’s former location! Enjoy a variety of drinks (including non-alcoholic beverages), along with food from Flatland Burgers. 3-10 PM

  • Musical - The Theatre Alliance presents Jersey Boys, the story of Franki Valli and the Four Seasons’ rise to fame. Showings through April 27.

  • Fitness Friday - Work up a sweat with a free F45 training session at the Coal Pit. 5:30 PM

  • Stage Show - Spirit Gum Theatre Co. presents Dead Man’s Cell Phone at the Milton Rhodes Art Center. Showings through Sunday.

Saturday, April 13

  • Hope Run 5K - Run or walk in Bailey Park to support Trellis Supportive Care. Afterward, enjoy live music, food trucks, and a Kaleideum kids zone! 9 AM - 12 PM

  • Birthday Party - Celebrate seven years of City with Dwellings with cake and a silent auction! 2-3:30 PM

  • Earth Day - Head to Shallowford Square for activities, event vendors, and a special recycling event. 9 AM - 1 PM

  • Spring Jam - Jam out at Wise Man Brewing with live music, food trucks, cookies from Chippeekiyay Cookies, and The Lane Exchange Thrift Bus. 12 PM - 12 AM

  • Yoga Class - Start your day with an outdoor class at Hopewood Farm. 10 AM

  • Art Party - Celebrate the art and artists of Kaleideum at this 21+ event! Explore the museum, meet featured artists, and help create a mural. 6:30-9:30 PM

  • Piano Performance - Uptown Dueling Pianos performs its all-request show at The Playground Golf and Sports Bar. No two performances are ever the same! 8 PM

  • Throwback Prom Night - Relive your high school prom at Fiddlin’ Fish, with the High School Reunion band playing favorites from the ‘80s, ‘90s, and ‘00s. 8-11:30 PM

  • Plant Sale - Shop a selection of shrubs and herbaceous perennials at the Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden. 8 AM - 12 PM

  • Party 4 Paws - Dinner and drinks, a live and silent auction, and dancing - all at the Millennium Center. Proceeds from the event help support AARF. VIP Reception at 6:30 PM, main event at 7:30 PM

Sunday, April 14

  • Camel City Craft Fair - Foothills Tasting Room hosts its annual spring market featuring handmade items, live music, and food trucks. 12-5 PM

  • Bachata & Brunch - Join Pink Moon Cafe for Latin dance and a delicious brunch! All experience levels are welcome: dance instructors will guide you through the steps. 1-4 PM

  • Family Workshop - Learn about photography at the Reynolda House, where participants will transfer a photographic negative onto a blank tote bag! 2 PM

Monday, April 15

  • Paint & Sip - Date night idea! Paint a pre-traced canvas at The Wrong Number - all materials provided. 6 PM

  • Save the Date: Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist hosts the 3rd Annual SummerLark at Bailey Park on May 11. Experience a special performance by Barenaked Ladies in support of the Cancer Patient Support Program to ensure that cancer patients never have to walk their journeys alone.*

  • Job: Hodges Triad Electric has several openings for Electricians / Electrician Helpers. The company is looking for Commercial, Residential, and Low Voltage electricians to join the team. All skill levels are needed.*

  • Opening: La Princesa, a Mexican-style ice cream shop, is opening a second location at 3248 Silas Creek Parkway on April 12. Keep an eye on our social media pages for an upcoming giveaway!

  • History: On April 13, 1964, Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke at Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church in Winston-Salem. To mark the 60th anniversary, the church will hold a special ceremony where people present that day will give remarks and recordings of the speech will be played.

  • Update: Wake Forest University’s annual service project, DESK, has been postponed to Tuesday, April 16 due to projected weather conditions.

Calling all movie lovers!! The RiverRun International Film Festival returns to the Triad next week!

WHAT | The festival screens new films from established and emerging filmmakers from all across the world. This year, the festival will present 197 screenings including everything from narrative films and documentaries to shorts and animated features.

WHEN | April 18-27

WHERE | Various venues such as the Milton Rhodes Center, UNCSA, and Marketplace Cinemas. Attendees can also watch some screenings virtually.

TICKETS | Passes to the festival and individual screenings are currently on sale. Some films are free to attend but require advanced registration.
